Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking a highly experienced Head Guide for a luxury safari lodge situated in the iconic Kruger National Park. This senior position is perfect for a passionate and skilled guide ready to lead and inspire a dynamic guiding team across three exceptional lodges.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
Lead mentor and manage the guiding teams across all three lodges
Conduct regular training assessments and performance reviews
Ensure high standards of professionalism ethics and guest interaction
Manage duty rosters and ensure sufficient guide coverage at each lodge
Guest Experience
Maintain and elevate the quality of game drives bush walks and interpretive experiences
Personally engage with guests delivering informative and memorable safaris
Address guest queries complaints and special requests with professionalism
Operational Management
Oversee the maintenance and cleanliness of safari vehicles and equipment
Ensure all documentation (licenses rifle registers vehicle checklists etc. is up to date
Collaborate with lodge management on guiding schedules budgets and operational needs
Conservation & Education
Promote conservation ethics and environmental awareness among staff and guests
Participate in wildlife monitoring and data collection as required
Build and maintain relationships with local conservation authorities and partners
Qualifications & Experience
FGASA NQF Level 4 (minimum)
Lead Trails Guide qualification
Minimum 5 years experience in a senior guiding role within a Big Five reserve and highend lodge
Valid Advanced Rifle Handling and SAPS competency
Valid First Aid certification
Valid driver s license and Professional Driving Permit (PDP)
DEAT/NDT registration
Strong leadership communication and organizational skills
Proficiency in 4x4 vehicle handling and basic vehicle maintenance is a plus
Remuneration & Benefits
R18000 per month
