Hours: 8:00a 4:30p
The Patient Service Representative duties include but are not limited to:
- interviews the patient or his/her representative to obtain identifying and basic demographics to prep for upcoming visits
- schedules patients in their clinic and assists with scheduling them in others
- verifies insurance coverage collects copays and prior balances from patients reconciles and prepares deposits and troubleshoots billing issues
- greets and checks in patients andles all incoming phone calls and routes to appropriate staff or initiates messages
- coordinates clinic business processes such as supply ordering sales calls record release fax and mail processing
- must be able to: 1 operate a computer to accurately input and retrieve data; 2 communicate with the population served staff and providers utilizing age specific techniques.;3 maintain proficiency in medical terminology; 4 project a positive and helpful attitude.
Qualifications
Education and Work Experience
- previous medical setting/hospital experience preferred
- knowledge of medical terminology preferred
- customer service experience preferred
- high school graduate or GED equivalent required
