Your role
As a key member of the unit you will be expected to act as Host and Producer for Le tljournal Saskatchewan ICI RadioCanada Saskatchewans TV newscast. In keeping with evolving editorial goals you will generate daily program ideas and program content using a variety of presentation formats.
You are an exceptional journalist and leader who thrives in the fastpaced highpressure world of breaking news. The ability to go live and off script at a moments notice is highly valued.
In addition to vetting scripts and writing program continuity you will take an active interest in the overall content texture and production values of the program from assignment through program presentation. You will be a strong team player working closely with other staff senior producers and management.
We are looking for a candidate with the following:
University degree or equivalent
Five 5 years experience of which three 3 must involve work in broadcasting or a closely related industry directly related to the area of assignment
Solid journalistic skills with highly developed vetting skills
Superior leadership coaching and mentoring skills with the demonstrated ability to encourage creativity
Solid production skills including experience in field production and strong ability to produce a variety of program formats
Highly developed technical skills including field recording and experience using a variety of equipment including advanced proficiency with iNEWS Dalet and Media Central
Strong presentation style ease with live coverage and excellent interviewing skills
Comfort with new and emerging technologies and a demonstrated ability to use same to engage audience
Ability to work proactively and provide leadership by example in a journalistic unit composed of highly talented professionals
Strong onair presentation skills
Excellent knowledge of political social economic and national issues that pertain to Saskatchewan and the francophone community
Understanding of the relationship between network and regional programming
Track record of completing assignments independently
Ability to work varying shifts including evenings and weekends
Bilingualism (English/French) essential
