Therapeutic Crisis Intervention for Schools Certification
TCIS is a crisis intervention program specifically designed for schools. This program was created at and is administered by Cornell University in Ithaca NY. This program came into existence in Ithaca during the early 1980s and is now a program that is administered in many countries all around the world.
TCIS is an intervention system that has been proven to:
21Hour Course
The TCIS system is among the most comprehensive programs for supporting and teaching children and young adults who experience crises. At the training you will be provided with a workbook and be asked to take part in many activities that involve interactions with your colleagues. You will be required to engage with one another in meaningful conversation roleplay scenarios as well as take part in small group discussions and lectures. To complete this course you will be expected to pass a written assessment and an assessment of your ability to conduct the Life Space Interview a seven step process used to teach children and young adults new coping skills.
Total time: 25 hours
21 hours of inperson training
5 hours of required asynchronous work for credentialing
