Description

TheDomestic Violence Intervention & Prevention Facilitator also know as the Family Healing Specialist is responsible for delivering and coordinating the Family Healing Program and services. Provide psychoeducation and therapeutic group to clients who have used abusive behavior in their intimate partnered relationships. Provide coordination of care through regular collateral and client contact. Provide regular progress reports to Probation Officers and Child Protection as well as completion and termination reports. Maintain accurate and uptodate client files and case and group notes. Engage with professionalism mutual respect and compassion with other systems representatives including the Family Healing Team and interns other Agency staff and clients.

The Family Healing Program recognizes that Domestic Violence does not discriminate among those who are impacted therefore implementing traumainformed care and advocating for diverse services that promote equality regardless of gender and sexual orientation is a crucial aspect when responding to clients who have perpetrated and/or are survivors of Domestic Violence.

Essential Job Functions of the Position:

Group Facilitation 50

  • Provide psychoeducation and process with group members on weeks topic and facilitate discussion surrounding the topic and clients experiences.
  • Meet with clients outside of group as needed.
  • Respond to the different stages of change that the clients are in as they are all at different stages in the group.
  • Work with the Youth and Family Programs Director and teams to continue the development of the Family Healing Program based on the client needs and barriers seen in group sessions.
  • Present on Domestic Violence and this ESNS program in the community to raise awareness.

Administrative and Case Management 50

  • Coordinate care through regular collateral and client contact by providing approved progress reports to Parole Officers and Child Protection Services (CPS) including completion and termination reports.
  • Connect group members with referrals to needed community supports and resources to support their successful completion of the program and ongoing stability and wellbeing.
  • Keep accurate statistical data and case records for groups and handle data entry of all group data including case notes Client Track and communication with the Criminal Justice System and CPS.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records to ensure the privacy and confidentiality of program participants and their families.
  • Assist with program evaluation

Other Job Duties:

  • May serve on community task forces
  • May supervise interns if applicable

Qualifications

Education / Skills:

  • Bachelors Degree in Social Work or related field preferred
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills Preferred

Experience:

  • Experience and understanding of working with domestic violence and victimization and associated professional standards and practices.
  • Experience facilitating groups.
  • Experience with program development.
  • A demonstrated progression in educational and professional experiences and commitment to ongoing professional development and practice.
  • Ability to contribute to an inclusive professional environment for staff clients and volunteers.
  • Familiarity with computer technology and willingness to learn computer

Working Conditions / Physical requirements:

  • Must be available to work evenings.
  • Must be available for group sessions in person or virtual during the day and evening determined by staff.
  • Must be comfortable working with clients who have perpetrated Domestic Violence.
  • Clear and assertive communication skills in both oral and written forms.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative and coordinated effort.
  • Ability to selfstart effectively problemsolve and follow through to completion in a timely manner.
  • Ability to set limits on personal and professional boundaries.
  • Ability to handle confidential information appropriately and legally.
