HealthFitness has an exciting opportunity for a fulltime 40 hours per week) benefits eligible Lifeguard at The Yukon Kuskokwim Fitness Center in Bethel AK! As a Lifeguard you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and wellbeing of patrons observing and enforcing rules and regulations responding quickly to emergencies administering first aid to injured patrons and communicating with staff and management. You will also be responsible for attending inservice training programs performing cleaning and maintenance duties in and around the pool area and assisting with other duties as assigned.

Schedule: Hours will vary will include evening and weekend hours.

Key Accountabilities

• Monitor and ensure safety and wellbeing of patrons using the aquatic facilities.
• Role model enforce and explain rules as necessary.
• Respond appropriately to any emergency.
• Perform chemical testing and documentation.
• Attend all required staff meetings and training.
• Maintain a professional attitude.
• Other duties as needed/assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old. Younger applicants may be considered if High School/GED has been completed.
• High School diploma/GED.
• American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification.
• Meet HealthFitness Fitness and Skill standards.
• Be dependable alert and able to interact with people of all ages in a positive manner with strong customer service skills.
• Computer proficiency in MS Office including Word Excel and Outlook; and working knowledge of the member management system databases and tools.
• Ability to be self directed but also work well within the team.
