General Information:

Lifeguards watch over all participants using the UREC aquatic facilities. The staff also provides aquatic and safety program information to the participants of UREC. One must hold a current Red Cross Lifeguard Training certification to apply.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Lifeguards will provide a safe environment for all participants of the Aquatics program area in UREC.
Lifeguards will respond to all emergencies in the pool and provide emergency care and treatment as required.
Lifeguards will enforce all policies and procedures that are established for the UREC pool.
Lifeguards will present a professional appearance and attitude and maintain a high standard of customer service.
Lifeguards will perform light cleaning duties at times when there is limited usage of the pool.
Lifeguards will attend monthly in-service training sessions and semester training.

Qualifications:

Previous lifeguard experience preferred.

Students must be degree-seeking students enrolled on at least a half-time basis (6 credits for undergraduate and 5 credits for graduate).
