Introduction



Fish & Wildlife Natural Resources Police Officers protect wildlife and fisheries resources promote boating education & safety hunting & fishing respond to boating emergencies and are a partner in Delawares Homeland Security maritime mission.

Summary Statement

The Seasonal Fish & Wildlife Natural Resources Police Officer position will assist fulltime officers enforcing applicable fishing hunting and boating laws throughout Delaware. Position will patrol by use of motor vehicle foot ATV bicycle and vessel. Position will patrol in varying weather conditions while working on the water in boats as well as on land. Applicants must be available to work weekends evenings and holidays as scheduled.

Essential Functions

Essential functions are fundamental core functions common to all positions in the class series and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all job duties for any one position in the class.

Since class specifications are descriptive and not restrictive incumbents can complete job duties of similar kind not specifically listed here.
Vessel vehicle ATV and Bicycle patrol Boating & fisheries violations.
Vessel ATV bicycle and vehicle maintenance and operation.
Administration work copying filing answering the phone.
Assist with apprehension detention and arrest of violators.
Fisheries Inspection and Identification.
Public relations outreach appear in court.
Assist full time officers with daily duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Applicants must have education training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:

Seasonal F&W NRP Officer I $19.50/hour:
1. At least 18 years of age.
2. Possession of a High School Diploma or GED.
3. Experience in narrative report writing.
4. Possession of a valid drivers license (not suspended revoked or cancelled or disqualified from driving).

Seasonal F&W NRP Officer II $20.75/hour:
1. At least 18 years of age.
2. Possession of high school diploma or GED and must have attained a minimum of 30 semester credits from an accredited college or university or one that is recognized by the U.S. Department of Higher Education.
3. Experience in narrative report writing.
4. Possession of a valid drivers license (not suspended revoked or cancelled or disqualified from driving).
5. Possession of a valid boater education card (a stateissued card or NASBLAapproved certificate).

Additional Posting Information

This is a Casual/Seasonal position which is a nonpension eligible position without healthcare and/or other benefits.
