Job Description
Grant Funded After School Internship Tutor
Reports To: Administrator/Program Coordinator in ESSER or 21st Century Grant funded after school programs
Position Purpose: Provide academic enrichment to improve student learning
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be a student teacher retired teacher social work psychology counseling or related services intern
- Must be reliable and punctual and able to commit to 210 hours per week not to exceed a 40 hour work week (e.g. hours are added to current hours and can not exceed 40 total hours per week)
- Knowledgeable about technology remediation/enrichment activities and children
- Willingness to meet the individual academic needs of children through differentiated approaches
- Knowledgeable about and understand District policies and procedures
- Speaking and understanding Spanish is a plus
For new hires the daily hours would not exceed 5 and the weekly hours would not exceed 25.
Responsibilities:
- Provide individual/small group instruction under the direction of a certified teacher
- Review instructional materials and processes prior to conducting student lessons
- Provide data as requested to afterschool coordinator
Physical/Emotional Requirements: (The incumbent may be required to use the below requirements during any part of the working day.
While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to walk sit talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is required to interact with staff and to meet demands from several people. The employee is responsible for the work output of others.
