JOB SUMMARY:

The Robot Operator will conduct strong working knowledge of robotic controls sensors startup and troubleshooting operations. This role will demonstrate strong safety leadership skills follow safe work practices and work independently. This job can also include sealer barrel changes windshield and door glass adhesive barrel changes and paint mix room barrel changes. Other responsibilities such as preventive maintenance paint viscosity checks and the use of FIFO standards will be required. This job can/will involve cross training with different robot cell technologies to ensure team flexibility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

These duties are not meant to be allinclusive and other duties may be assigned.

  • Monitor robot throughout paint or glass install process to check quality and function.
  • Resolve repetitive quality defects through investigation and corrective action.
  • Attend robotic systems training through sponsorship of MTM.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures rules and regulations.
  • Ensure all activities are properly documented and logged for proper data collection.
  • Follow all safety procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Two 2 or more years of experience in a heavyduty truck/manufacturing environment or an evaluated equivalent.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Robot operator experience or industrial machine operation experience.

BASIC COMPETENCIES:

  • Internal Contacts: Contact with employees or others primarily at a routine level involving basic information exchange; Contact with peers and others involving explanation of information (these contacts may be within or outside department or division) and the gathering of factual information; may include the communication of sensitive or confidential information.
  • External Contacts: Limited external contact to gather information answer queries or ask assistance.
  • Communication Skills: Read write and comprehend simple instructions short correspondence and memos; Read and interpret safety rules operating/maintenance instructions and procedure manuals; Write routine reports correspondence and speak effectively before both internal and external groups.
  • Ensure quick response to fault situations and to get line moving as quick as possible. Also alert management maintenance and programming for assistance when the situation is needed.
  • Complexity Judgment and Problem Solving: Requires judgment in the adaptation and interpretation of established practices and procedures to meet problems and situations to which the application is not clearly defined.

  • Environmental Demands: Occasional: Work Alone Frequent Task Changes Tedious/Exacting Work Dust Temperature Extremes Loud Noises.
  • Work Schedule: Routine shift hours. Infrequent overtime weekend or shift rotation.
  • Demands/Deadlines: Occasional stress due to deadlines or workload business of intermittent or cyclical work pressures or occasional exposure to distressed individuals within the immediate work environment.
