We are seeking an intrinsically motivated and passionate individual to teach Wellness and Physical Education. This position will begin April 28 2025 through June 20 2025. Our Wellness teachers work collaboratively to deliver physical education and teach gradespecific content in a classroom setting on two of the five days of the week. The goal of the Wellness teacher is to provide the student with a broad understanding of physical and emotional health to help them develop critical thinking and to provide a gateway for students interested in future careers in the health field. POSITION OBJECTIVE:This position is accountable for assuming the responsibility for delivering high quality instructional experience through creativity resourcefulness and sound judgment consistent with the curriculum frameworks standards and the rules and regulations of the FreetownLakeville Regional School RESPONSIBILITIES: for remaining up to date regarding curriculum for effective planning and assessment of curriculum and for mentoring students understanding of the curriculum effectively and adjusting instruction materials or assessments when for effective management of the classroom for effective instruction which includes making learning goals clear to the students using appropriate instructional and questioning for using innovative approaches and instructional strategies including the effective use of technologies to increase student learning and confidence to for the promotion of high standards and expectations for student for the promotion of equity and appreciation of diversity to ensure equitable opportunities for student earning including for implementing specific strategies for students with special needs with 504 plans andor second language for providing equal educational and employment opportunities to all individual regardless of race color gender age religion gender identity national origin marital status sexual orientation disability or of other jobrelated duties as QUALIFICATIONS: DESE license in Physical DegreeADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: experience in the content experience supporting students with special teaching students who are English language who are licensed in another state will be considered if they qualify for the temporary license from DESE (must possess the equivalent license from another state and must have documented proof of working under that license for at least three complete school years).
