Qualifications:License in Moderate Disabilities PreK8 or Severe (All Levels)Experience in providing structured phonicsbased instruction to individual and small formally and informally assessing student reading Reading TrainedWilson Reading Certified PreferredThe special education reading teacher will work with high school students with specific learning disabilities in reading. They will be a part of the Language Based Learning program. They will be responsible for teaching small group classes using the Wilson Reading system. The ideal candidate should posses three to four years of experience teaching reading and a strong understanding of how to assess and implement phonicsbased reading instruction. In addition they will provide academic support to students in a small group setting outside of the general education classrooms. The reading teacher will be expected to manage a caseload of students prepare IEP goals complete progress reports complete informal and formal assessments work collaboratively with other team members and attend IEP position is based at Brockton High School and one class at Brockton Therapeutic Day School.
