Position Title: Director of Elementary Education
Reports To: Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum & Instruction
Work Days: 226 Days
FLSA Status: Exempt
Provide leadership and oversight for the districts elementary instructional programs. Ensure the effective development implementation and evaluation of curriculum and instructional practices to promote student achievement and align with district goals and state standards.
Education/Certification:
Masters degree in Education Curriculum & Instruction or Educational Administration
Valid Texas MidManagement or Principal Certification
TTESS Certified Appraiser (preferred)
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of successful classroom teaching experience
At least 3 years in instructional leadership roles such as campus administration
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Indepth knowledge of curriculum design and instructional best practices
Ability to analyze and interpret student performance data
Strong leadership organizational and communication skills
Proficiency in managing budgets and personnel
Familiarity with state and federal education laws and policies
Instructional Leadership:
Oversee the development and implementation of elementary curricula aligned with TEKS and district objectives
Collaborate with principals instructional coaches and teachers to enhance instructional strategies.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of instructional programs and initiatives
Facilitate the selection and adoption of instructional materials and resources
Professional Development:
Design and coordinate professional learning opportunities for elementary educators
Support the implementation of the districts teacher appraisal system
Mentor and guide instructional staff to foster continuous improvement
Program Evaluation and Compliance:
Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations related to elementary education
Analyze student achievement data to inform instructional decisions
Prepare reports and presentations for stakeholders on program effectiveness
Budget and Resource Management:
Develop and manage budgets for elementary instructional programs
Allocate resources effectively to support teaching and learning
Seek and manage grants or additional funding opportunities
Community and Stakeholder Engagement:
Communicate effectively with parents community members and other stakeholders
Promote family and community involvement in elementary education
Represent the district at local regional and state meetings as needed
Mental Demands:
Maintain emotional control under stress
Work with frequent interruptions
Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Frequent districtwide travel
Occasional prolonged and irregular hours
Prolonged use of computer and office equipment
