Job Description

Job Description:
The Business Development Manager will play a pivotal role in transferring indepth product knowledge and building lasting collaborative relationships with customers. The primary goal is to identify and capitalize on opportunities to expand product distribution across key markets. By developing and executing strategic business plans this role will drive substantial sales growth while delivering key performance metrics that contribute to the organization s broader business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify and Manage Business Opportunities: Actively identify and pursue business development opportunities at each stage of the customer lifecycle from prospecting to longterm partnership.
  • Execute Visibility Initiatives: Lead instore visibility campaigns ensuring optimal product placement through effective planogram implementation and consistently achieving merchandising excellence.
  • Customer Performance Tracking: Provide comprehensive updates via detailed customer scorecards evaluating market conditions product (SKU) performance and translating these insights into actionable growth plans.
  • Customer Relationship Cultivation: Build and maintain robust customer relationships that drive brand loyalty product advocacy and longterm support ensuring high satisfaction levels.
  • Conduct Customer Visits: Regularly conduct inperson customer visits as outlined in the strategic work plan strengthening relationships and aligning on shared goals.
  • Achieve Sales Targets: Consistently meet or exceed targets in Net Sales Value (NSV) by optimizing Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) and efficiently managing customer operations.
  • Monitor Investment Plans: Track and manage joint investment strategies with customers ensuring alignment with preestablished objectives and financial goals.
  • Seek New Development Opportunities: Proactively explore and implement new growth initiatives leveraging market intelligence and customer feedback to refine strategies and uncover fresh opportunities for expansion.


Requirements

  • Bachelor s degree in Business Marketing or a related field.
  • Minimum of 46 years of experience in the FMCG industry ideally with a strong background in food products or pet care. Preference will be given to candidates with experience working with principal brands.
  • Proven experience managing Modern Trade (MT) and General Trade (GT) channels demonstrating a deep understanding of distribution networks and customer engagement strategies in both.
  • Exceptional ability to build and sustain longterm mutually beneficial relationships with clients particularly within large retail chains and key accounts.
  • Strong negotiation skills and a keen understanding of market dynamics with a track record of driving sales growth through strategic planning and market analysis.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English with the ability to communicate complex product information clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences.
  • Indepth knowledge of FMCG products especially within food or pet care with additional expertise in nutrition or veterinary medicine considered a significant advantage.
  • Willingness to travel nationwide to oversee instore initiatives meet with customers and represent the company at industry events.
