$91800 $95000 annually; Compensation will be based on education experience skills relevant to the role and internal equity.

A. POSITION PURPOSE

The Collaborative Theology Initiative (CTI) Program Manager for the Jesuit School of Theology of Santa Clara University (JSTSCU) plays an important role in the implementation of programming related to CTI which is an important component of the schools strategic plan. The G/CTI Program Manager reports to the Dean of JSTSCU in their role as the inaugural chair of the CTI. The position also supports the work of the CTI Coordinating Committee and Operations Committee.

CTI Working Vision Statement

The Collaborative Theology Initiative seeks to respond to Pope Francis call for a theology that is synodal contextual global transdisciplinary intercultural interreligious and responsive to the

needs of the church and the world. Our collaboration is a testimony to the possibility of

reconciliation in a fractured world.

CTI Working Mission Statement

CTI seeks to form and sustain new working relationships among Jesuit theology centers around the world. Through our academic and administrative collaboration we seek to better prepare students to contribute to theology as a work of the Society of Jesus and minister to the universal church of the 21st century.

The position will begin as soon as possible and is a fixedterm role that will be funded until June 30 2027. The position may possibly be renewed based on future funding and programmatic needs.

B. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Collaboration

Collaborate with the Dean Coordination Committee and Operations Committee to plan and implement highly complex programs and initiatives. Examples include but are not limited to: developing shared courses developing exchange programs for students faculty and staff developing shared professional development opportunities and developing memorandums of understanding.

Consult and collaborate JSTSCU personnel including the Associate Dean the Chief Operating Officer the Assistant Dean of Finance and Administration and the Director of Marketing and Communication when planning and implementing new programs and initiatives.

Consult and collaborate with SCU administrative units including Global Engagement and the General Counsel when planning and implementing new programs and initiatives.

2. Programmatic Administration

Lead the design development and implementation of CTIs strategic planning

Manage and implement the daytoday administrative logistics associated with the CTI and related programs and initiatives.

Manage and implement event and travel planning for CTIrelated programs and initiatives.

Oversee the creation of marketing and communication assets including a website.

Write and submit annual reports for existing grants related to the CTI.

Initiate and actively participate in the creation of new grant funding requests related to the CTI.

Oversee and manage the implementation of any CTI budgets.

Collaborate with the Global Engagement at Santa Clara University to ensure all programs and initiatives align with University policy processes and procedures.

3. Programmatic Oversight

Develop and implement an accountability and reporting process for the working groups.

Develop regular reports for the Dean Coordinating Committee and Operations Committee

Oversee and ensure the of CTI programs and initiatives.

Develop and implement an evaluation process to ensure ongoing programmatic evaluation of CTI programs and initiatives.

Provide regular communication and timely updates to the Coordination Committee and Operations Committee.

4. Other Duties as Assigned

Perform other related responsibilities as assigned.

Contribute to the welcoming environment of JSTSCU by being present and responsive during regular business hours in the office.

Work some evening and weekend hours as needed for events and special projects.

Participate in the JSTSCU building coverage program.

C. GENERAL GUIDELINES

Recommends initiatives and implements changes to improve quality and services. Identifies and determines causes of problems; develops and presents recommendations for improvement of established processes and practices. Maximizes productivity through use of appropriate tools; planned training and performance initiatives. Uses independent judgment to research and develop resources that create timely and efficient workflow. Establishes work flow and manages projects independently: prepares progress reports; informs supervisor of project status; and deviation from goals. Ensures completeness accuracy and timeliness of all operational

functions.

D. QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The items below are representative of the knowledge skills abilities education and experience required or preferred.

This position requires the ability to effectively establish and maintain cooperative working relationships within a diverse multicultural environment.

1. Knowledge

Demonstrated knowledge of international partnerships involving students faculty and staff in a higher education setting

Deep familiarity with theological education

Experienced international traveler with a global perspective

Familiarity with and support for the mission and global works of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits)

2. Skills

Effective written and oral presentation skills in different contexts and with diverse audiences

Effective interpersonal skills: ability to work collaboratively and effectively with diverse individuals and groups that have differing levels of knowledge and skills

Administrative skills including grant writing and budget management

Curiosity to continually learn and grow

3. Abilities

Ability to forge international networks with diverse stakeholders

Ability to work independently and on multiple projects

Ability to work collaboratively

Ability to plan organize and prioritize duties and effectively manage processes related to those duties

Ability to communicate and produce work in English (knowledge of Spanish and/or French is desired).

Must be willing and able to travel when required (approximately 25.

4. Education and/or experience

Bachelors degree required masters and/or doctorate degree in Theology preferred. At least three years of relevant experience is required.

The work environment characteristics described below are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

Typical office environment (not a remote position).

Mostly an indoor office environment with windows.
