Primary Purpose:
Assists the School Nurse in delivering comprehensive health care to students.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the School Nurse the Assistant Nurse:
Qualifications:
Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse current licensed in Massachusetts
CPR/AED and First Aid Certifications
Minimum of two years experience in nursing
Assistant Nurses are paid to work up to 33 hours per week. 33 hours per week is considered equivalent to a 1.0 FTE. This does not include a 30 minute unpaid break. Assistant Nurses work 185 days: the 180 dyas when the students are present and a comination of five 5 additional days. The five 5 additional days will be scheduled by the Administrator of Student Services in collaboration with the Assistant Nurses to occur either directly before and / or after the school year. A final decision about the scheduling of these days for the following school year will be made by June 1st.
