Amazon CS is among the worlds largest customer service organizations with tens of thousands of Customer Service Associates providing worldclass support around the clock in over 20 languages. The Concessions team enhances CS by developing sophisticated products for both customers and Customer Service Associates. These solutions enable seamless selfservice and automation for customers while allowing associates to effectively address issues through intuitive humancentered design.
The ideal candidate has experience designing largescale systems supporting thousands of transactions per second enjoys solving complex software problems and should view every customer interaction as an opportunity to create an exceptional customer experience. As a key member of our team you will have the opportunity to work directly with partner teams (World Wide Return and Recommerce Amazon Business Ordering etc. owning major deliverables across all aspects of development: scoping design implementation and testing.
Key job responsibilities
As a Software Development Engineer you will collaborate with a team of skilled engineers to design and develop lowlatency solutions across the frontend middle tier and backend. You will evaluate and implement new technologies to address complex challenges working with tools and platforms such as Java DynamoDB Lambda and other AWS services.
Your responsibilities will include:
Designing and developing innovative software solutions to enhance the performance availability and durability of Concession Services.
Writing highquality efficient and maintainable code that adheres to industry best practices.
Troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues related to Concession Services functionality.
Staying current with the latest technology advancements to simplify architectures and improve systems.
A day in the life
In this role you will design and code solutions that drive efficiencies in software architecture while creating metrics implementing automation and addressing root causes of software defects. Your daily responsibilities will include:
Building highimpact solutions to serve a large customer base.
Participating in design discussions conducting code reviews and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
Working crossfunctionally to provide technical input for business decisions.
Operating in a dynamic startuplike environment focusing on highpriority initiatives.
3 years of noninternship professional software development experience
2 years of noninternship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
3 years of Video Games Industry (supporting title Development Release or Live Ops) experience
Experience programming with at least one software programming language
3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent
