The Role

The Technical Lead at OneRail is a handson leadership role responsible for guiding engineering teams in delivering scalable highquality software solutions. You will define technical direction drive process improvements mentor developers and ensure engineering excellence across our platform. In this role you will also work closely with Product Managers to align on roadmap priorities drive efficient delivery and enhance team processes for continuous improvement.

This position is ideal for experienced engineers who excel in architecture technical decisionmaking and team mentorship while maintaining a strong balance between leadership and handson coding.

Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership & Architecture

• Lead technical design decisions and ensure scalable maintainable and highperformance architecture.
• Establish best practices in software development deployment and observability.
• Drive technical innovation by exploring new tools frameworks and design patterns.

Team Leadership & Mentorship

• Provide technical mentorship and career guidance to engineers at all levels.
• Conduct regular performance reviews offer constructive feedback and facilitate growth opportunities.
• Foster collaboration accountability and a culture of engineering excellence.
• Interviewingregularly to keep an eye out for top talent.

Software Development & Code Quality

• Actively participate in code reviews ensuring adherence to coding standards security guidelines and performance best practices.
• Champion highquality code testing automationtesting and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD).
• Ensure feature releases are welltested stable and productionready.

Process Improvement & Strategy

• Drive SDLC improvements maintaining lowcycle times.
• Optimize development workflows to improve team velocity and operational efficiency.
• Define performance metrics for engineering teams and provide datadriven insights.

Cloud & Infrastructure Management

• Oversee Azurebased cloud architecture optimizing performance security and cost efficiency.
• Implement scalable microservices API gateways and eventdriven architectures.
• Ensure high availability disaster recovery and fault tolerance strategies are in place.

Qualifications:
7 years of experience in software engineering with at least 3 years in a leadership or mentoring role.
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science Computer Engineering or equivalent is preferred.
Proven expertise in backend development with TypeScript and RESTful API design.
Strong experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (MySQL Azure Cosmos DB).
Experience with cloudnative architecture containerization (Docker) and CI/CD pipelines.
Ability to lead architecture discussions guide technical decisions and enforce engineering best practices.
Strong problemsolving skills analytical thinking and ability to balance technical depth with speed.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skillscan effectively communicate complex technical concepts to engineers executives and crossfunctional teams.
Experience in managing production software releases monitoring performance and optimizing reliability.
Knowledge of observability tools (App Insights Datadog) for realtime performance monitoring and troubleshooting.
