This is a highly visible position with significant impact and growth. To be successful in this role you are customer obsessed and have sharp business acumen to build a product vision and roadmap that contributes to the success of both our internal and external customers. You are a technical leader with track record of building and growing engineering and data teams. You ship error free software and own the daytoday maintenance and evolution of systems that serve the needs of clients. We are looking for a leader who can thrive in a startup environment thinks big can move fast and find ways to improve customer experiences and tech capabilities.
Key job responsibilities
Own technical vision and direction: You identify and mitigate risks construct project schedules and prepare status reports; you embrace performance metrics and measurement techniques because they help you assess how well systemrelated services are running.
Develop your team: Youll be accountable for developing an engineering team that delivers results. This means youll wear a lot of hats from coaching individuals to leading technical discussions recruiting establishing processes and so on. Youll be an example of Amazons leadership principles and work to grow more leaders within your group.
Collaborate on product direction: Youll build and maintain strong relationships between engineering product management and partner disciplines (Systems Operations Safety) to ensure that were focused on delivering the right product for customers.
Lead beyond your team: You will be a key leader within Prime Airs Airspace Mission Orchestration Systems (AMOS) organization. Youll share your best practices and technical acumen in order to drive technology decisions across our organization.
About the team
Prime air has ambitious goals to offer its service to an increasing number of customers and enabling a large number of concurrent flights is central to achieving this. To this end the air traffic control team is building algorithms tools and services for orchestration of prime airs autonomous drone fleet.
3 years of scientists or machine learning engineers management experience
Knowledge of ML NLP Information Retrieval and Analytics
Experience building machine learning models or developing algorithms for business application
Experience building complex software systems especially involving deep learning machine learning and computer vision that have been successfully delivered to customers

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $165500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $286000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity signon payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
