Job Description

Marketing & Publicity Assistant DK

We are seeking to fill the position of Marketing and Publicity Assistant to support Vice President Marketing and Publicity and Senior Marketing Director. We are looking for an individual who can provide comprehensive support and assistance in the daily operations of this office. This is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to both the marketing and publicity areas of the publishing process.

The individual who assumes this position must be able to manage the calendar independently while also exercising the utmost sensitivity to the teams responsibilities and needs. This individual must communicate and interact effectively efficiently and professionally with management and employees at all levels of the organization and with external clients and contacts. High ethical standards and a thorough understanding of the importance of discretion and confidentiality are essential to the role.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Assist with publicity mailings
  • Manage emails from the marketing and publicity inbox
  • Draft pitch letters and/or assist in creation of pitch lists
  • Prepare Pub Slips for and coordinate publicity mailings
  • Coordinate trade show material packing
  • Coordinate materials for IndieBound mailings
  • Conference room booking
  • Coordinate department attendance grid.
  • Coordination circulation and notetaking for sales and marketing meeting agenda
  • Coordinate the uploading of Edelweiss lists with PRH
  • Coordinate weekly marketing content for proofreading and relay changes when received.
  • General administrative support such as ordering office supplies and occasional organizing marketing and PR materials.

Please apply if you meet the following minimum requirements:

  • 2 years administrative experience ideally in a publishing environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and set priorities
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office Programs
