Summary:
We are seeking a local Medical Assistant (MA) to join their Deployment Pool Float Team. This role offers a flexible floating model across outpatient clinics in Lacey Olympia and Lewis County (including Chehalis Rochester and Centralia). A 30-day clinic trial period is offered with potential full-time placement based on mutual fit. Local candidates are highly preferred as this role is intended for temp-to-perm conversion.
Candidates must have active Washington MA-C license BLS certification and experience with Epic medical terminology and outpatient clinical procedures. This is a Monday through Friday day shift with no weekends or on-call.
Responsibilities:Float across adult outpatient clinics within designated areas (mileage not reimbursed; reliable transportation required)
Room patients and document history medications and allergies
Take and record vital signs: BP pulse temperature respirations
Administer immunizations and TB tests under supervision
Assist with procedures and nebulizer treatments
Collect and label lab specimens (urine throat swabs venipuncture)
Perform point-of-care glucose testing
Manage patient calls triage and prescription refill requests
Conduct hearing and vision screenings
Support providers with follow-up calls suture removal and other outpatient services
Utilize EPIC for charting and documentation
WA MA-C license must be active at time of submission (pending not accepted)
Reliable personal transportation required for float assignments
Must provide 3 confirmed interview times with time zones when submitting
Must be a local candidate (within 50 miles); mileage restrictions apply
Candidate must be aware of and agree to floating and clinic trial process
No Call/No Show to interviews results in disqualification from entire health system
Education:
Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred
Experience:
Minimum 6 months to 1 year of experience in a healthcare outpatient setting
First-time travelers accepted
License:
Washington MA-C license (active) Required
BLS Required
Skills:
Proficiency in EPIC
Strong knowledge of medical terminology
Familiarity with outpatient adult clinic procedures
Comfortable with lab draws injections and assisting with minor procedures
Professional communication and patient care skills
