Our collaborative programming provides graduate students and future faculty with academic community and professional development opportunities critical to their success at Cornell and beyond. OISE also facilitates positive systemic change to advance diversity access equity and belonging in graduate education and the academy more broadly.

The Opportunity

The Graduate School Office of Inclusion and Student Engagement (OISE) is seeking a Program Coordinator to serve as the office lead. Reporting to the Associate Dean for Inclusion and Student & Faculty Engagement this role provides comprehensive administrative event and program management support while ensuring seamless coordination across multiple units.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct support to the Associate Dean for Inclusion and Student & Faculty Engagement including database management presentations correspondence and data analysis for reporting.

  • Offer administrative support including travel arrangements reimbursements and purchasing for the Associate Dean for Graduate Student Life and Assistant Dean for Access and Recruitment.

  • Lead event planning and program coordination for OISE the Faculty Advancing Inclusive Mentoring (FAIM) Resource Center the Graduate School Office of Access and Recruitment and the Office of Graduate Student Life.

  • Supervise hire and train a team of graduate student office and program coordinators supporting peer mentoring academic success student and faculty engagement and communitybuilding initiatives.

  • Serve as a key liaison fostering communication and collaboration among stakeholders including graduate students postdoctoral scholars faculty and external partners.

  • Assist in the development and management of OISEs web and social media content.

  • Support the planning and of Graduate Schoolwide events including orientation PhD recognition celebrations and alumni events.

  • Maintain tracking systems for Graduate School programming and generate annual reports.

  • Provide backup administrative support as needed including emergency office coverage mail distribution and event support.

This is a fulltime 39 hours/week) endowed position that is based in Ithaca NY. This position follows a 4:1 campustohome hybrid work arrangement after a period of orientation and training. This hybrid work arrangement is subject to change at any time. Work hours are 8:30am5pm Monday through Friday with occasional evening and weekend commitments to support Graduate School programs events and initiatives.

What You Need

We are seeking a team member who excels at problemsolving has attention to detail is organized and can work well collaboratively and independently. Additionally you will:

  • Hold an Associates degree with 46 years of relevant administrative experience or equivalent combination of education and/or experience with office and event management

  • Display ability to effectively prioritize manage a high volume of work promptly and accurately

  • Display ability to communicate clearly and effectively verbally and in writing

  • Have experience planning and implementing complex events and programs

  • Demonstrate attention to detail through previous work experience

  • Be fluent with using Microsoft Office (especially Excel Word PowerPoint and Outlook) and Zoom

  • Have experience in and/or demonstrate commitment to supporting diversity equity access inclusion and wellbeing.

  • Have prior experience working directly with people from diverse racial ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds.

  • Be experienced with incorporating the perspectives of multiple communities including communities of color.

  • Have experience working with diversity equity inclusion and wellbeing programs.

  • Serve as an advocate for individuals of all ethnicities genders ages and backgrounds.

  • Cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working relationships with students faculty staff and community members

If you possess these experiences and skills this may be the role for you! There are a few other qualifications we would view as incredibly helpful in this role to include:

  • Bachelors degree preferred

  • Experience working with or in support of graduate and professional students and/or faculty

  • Experience and competency using Qualtrics Canvas CollegeNet PeopleSoft WebFin2 (and/or comparable software and data and financial management systems)

  • Experience contributing to and/or managing website content

  • Experience contributing to and/or managing social media accounts for professional purposes

  • Academic and/or applied background in DEIA (diversity equity inclusion and access) higher education student development business and/or other related disciplines

  • Experience supporting the management of federal and foundation grant proposals and awards

  • Experience developing and managing budgets for programs and events

  • Familiarity with Cornell systems or other similar systems such as Canvas PeopleSoft Salesforce CampusGroups Workday Eshop Concur Kuali Financial System
