DESCRIPTION: Southeastern Regional is seeking an Advanced Manufacturing Teacher to join the program. Candidates must hold a Chapter 74 Massachusetts Advanced Manufacturing License or meet the qualifications to obtain one. Satisfactory CORI Statewide Applicant Fingerprint Identification Services (SAFIS) and SORI required. Bilingual preferred.POSITION SUMMARY:
Map each grade curriculum to the Massachusetts Advanced Manufacturing Frameworks.Provide instruction in the content by the Massachusetts VocationalTechnical Frameworks in the specified career area.Enforce all OSHA safety regulations within the career education setting.Instruct students in the shop and the classroom.Document student performance behavior and achievement within the career education setting.Provides review and reinforcement of new concepts; supports students in the completion of their assigned testing organization NOCTI handles the administration of the written and performance content tests. Complete information on these tests is available at or by Vocational Technical Education Framework for this program is available at Demonstrate knowledge of students IEPs as well as the accommodations and modifications necessary for student success; modify assignments tests and quizzes in collaboration with special educators if required.Develop resources for students to be successful such as models graphic organizers copies of class notes video clips demonstrations etc.Participate as a member of the career area department; collaborate with teachers within the department.Collaborate with teachers in academic disciplines to facilitate learning activities that are crosscurricular and projectbased.Collaborate with the Vocational Supervisor/Cooperative Education Coordinator to place students in their career areas.Maintain documentation including student performance behavior progress data notation of student absences/tardies and conversations with parents and administrators.Provide content support outside of the general education classroom as necessary.Integrate technology into the curriculum.Respond to any correspondence both oral and written that comes from a parent or guardian.Participate in conferences and meetings when appropriate; contribute observations and ideas.Attend Advisory Board meetings twice per year; attend Open House.Keep current with changes in your career area; collaborate with Advisory Board members.Accept additional responsibilities as may be required under the direction of the Vocational Supervisor(s).Appointed candidates may be required to attend days (s) over the summer for orientation training etc.SKILLS REQUIRED:Experience using tools machinery and equipment in the Advanced Manufacturing industry in a safe manner.Strong organizational skills.Strong communication skills.Strong technology skills.The ability to meet deadlines and carry out initiatives as assigned by your supervisor(s).The ability to be flexible with job assignments and performance responsibilities.The ability to teach all high school grade levels 912 and postsecondary.Qualifications:Candidates must currently hold a Massachusetts Ch. 74 Advanced Manufacturing license or meet the qualifications below to obtain one:High school diploma or the equivalentFive years of fulltime employment experience directly related to Advanced ManufacturingPassing score on each test (written test and performance test) in Advanced Manufacturing or Machine Tool Technology**This field was previously called Machine Tool TechnologyOne of the following:Achieve a passing score on the Vocational Technical Literacy Skills Test Achieve a passing score on the Communication and Literacy Skills TestThese tests can be found at the MTEL website: An associates degree may substitute for one of five years of required employment experience provided that the degree includes subject matter related to the Technical Knowledge and Skills strand (Strand 2 of the Vocational Technical Education Framework in Advanced Manufacturing/or in vocational education.A bachelors degree may substitute for two of five years of required employment experience provided that the degree includes subject matter related to the Technical Knowledge and Skills strand (Strand 2 of the Vocational Technical Education Framework in Advanced Manufacturing/or in vocational testing organization NOCTI handles the administration of the written and performance content tests.
