PLATO is Canadas only Indigenousled Indigenous staffed software testing services firm. PLATO has offices on or near Indigenous communities across Canada in Fredericton Sault Ste Marie Ottawa/Gatineau Regina Prince Albert Calgary and Vancouver.

We are seeking a detailoriented and experienced Business Analyst to join our dynamic team. The Business Analyst will play a crucial role in analyzing and defining IT requirements and ensuring that technology solutions meet the needs of the business. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background combined with excellent analytical and communication skills. This role requires an individual who can work in our Sault Ste. Marie office.

What youll do

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business goals and translate them into technical requirements.
  • Conduct detailed analysis of current systems processes and workflows to identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop functional specifications (FRD) user stories & personas process maps and Requirement Traceability Matrix (RTM) for IT projects ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Facilitate meetings and workshops with business stakeholders and IT teams to gather and prioritize requirements.
  • Work closely with development and QA teams to ensure accurate and timely implementation of solutions.
  • Perform gap analysis and provide postimplementation support.
  • Support project managers in project planning monitoring progress and ensuring delivery within scope and timelines.
  • Assist in user acceptance testing and coordinate rollout of new systems and enhancements.
  • Active participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

What youll need

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Information Technology Computer Science Business Administration or related field.
  • Proven experience 5 as Business Analyst or similar role in client projects in technology.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Experience with business process modeling tools and techniques.
  • Experience working with government would be preferred.
  • Excellent client facing communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Familiarity with enterprise software solutions and IT infrastructure.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word Excel PowerPoint Visio) Jira Trello Miro DevOps etc.
  • Relevant certifications like CBAP PMIPBA are preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent client facing communication skills both verbal and written
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Highly organized adaptive to change strong inclination to continuous learning.
  • Believes in coaching and mentoring team members wherever needed.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be within a commutable distance to Sault Ste. Marie Work from our office location and occasional onsite work with clients is required.
  • Flexibility to travel to client sites as needed with the frequency varying based on project requirements.
