REPORTS TO: Director of Maintenance
SUMMARY: The job of Grounds Maintenance Worker is done for the purpose(s) of serving under general direction in the performance of grounds maintenance gardening flood irrigation and related work as required to maintain attractive sanitary and safe school grounds equipment and landscape areas.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
SKILLS KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
Skills are required to perform single nontechnical tasks with a need to occasionally upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skills required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: utilizing equipment used in profession.
Knowledge is required to perform basic math; read a variety of manuals write documents following prescribed formats and/or present information to others; and understand multistep oral and written instructions. Specific knowledge required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job includes: pertinent policies regulations and/or laws and various positionspecific information learned onthejob.
Ability is required to schedule activities and/or meetings; gather and/or collate data; and consider a number of factors when using equipment. Flexibility is required to work with others; work with data utilizing defined and similar processes; and operate equipment using a variety of standardized methods. Ability is also required to work with a diversity of individuals; work with specific jobrelated data; and utilize jobrelated equipment. In working with others some problem solving may be required to identify issues and select action plans. Problem solving with data may require independent interpretation; and problem solving with equipment is limited to moderate. Specific abilities required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: adhering to safety practices; communicating with diverse groups; and meeting deadlines and schedules.
RESPONSIBILITY:
Responsibilities include: working under direct supervision using standardized routines; leading guiding and/or coordinating others; and operating within a defined budget. There is continual opportunity to impact the Organizations services.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The usual and customary methods of performing the jobs functions require the following physical demands: significant lifting carrying pushing and/or pulling; frequent climbing and balancing; frequent stooping kneeling crouching and/or crawling; and some finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 5 sitting 70 walking and 25 standing. The job is performed under some temperature extremes and some hazardous conditions.
