Job Description

Human Resources Director:

We are looking for a Human Resources Director to join our team. This role reports to the Hotel General Manager and is a handson inperson Director role responsible for leading a Human Resources team. This position requires strong HR Management with expertise in employee relations training & development employee engagement and building a shared vision and culture.

Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

  • Lead the HR team in handling all human resources related activities which may include: employee relations fielding employee questions or concerns communication and the interpretation of policies and procedures and accurate recording of payroll.
  • Provide training to employees and management on maintaining a productive and positive work environment workplace safety coaching progressive discipline incident management HR policies and processes etc.
  • Direct monitor and assist managers/supervisors with hiring processes and issues.
  • Direct and assist with recruitment efforts and new hire processes including but not limited to: interviewing making job offer recommendations processing new hire paperwork and conducting new hire orientation.
  • Direct and coordinate applicant reference checks background checks motor vehicle checks and social security number verification.
  • Direct the creation and maintenance of personnel files both digitally and physically. Ensure accurate maintenance of all employee records and files (e.g. interview documents I9s).
  • Supportand serve as a liaison between employees and management.
  • Direct and coordinate employee investigations as needed and ensure timely and responsible resolutions.
  • Direct and support HR team in benefits related questions such as benefits eligibility sending out eligibility reminders to new hires open enrollment.
  • Direct and coordinate for quarterly employee recognition program.
  • Direct and coordinate for employee Birthday/Anniversary program.
  • Direct and coordinate creation and distribution of employee newsletter.
  • Direct and coordinate termination processes and conduct exit interviews.
  • Ensure implementation and maintenance of HR processes for compliance and consistency.
  • Represent Human Resources as a member of the leadership team.
  • Maintaining a high level of professionalism in presentation demeanor ethics etc.
  • Ensure workrelated injury claims are processed timely and managed according to company policy.
  • Perform in any HR role as needed.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Physical Demands and Required Experience:

  • 510 years of experience in progressive human resources environment at least 5 years of HR management experience. Bachelors degree preferred.
  • Experience in the hospitality industry is a plus.
  • MUST have excellent communication and people skills including the ability to listen to the needs of others.
  • Proven strong leadership qualities in a fastpaced environment.
  • In depth knowledge of labor laws and HR practices.
  • Ability to remain calm in stressful situations and deal well with conflict.
  • High level of integrity to handle confidential information; to maintain strict confidentiality regarding payroll benefits and other employee and business.
  • Strong ethics and demonstrated sound judgement.
  • Able to multitask and manage: ability to effectively manage multiple projects priorities and deadlines.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred but not required.
  • Strong computer skills (PowerPoint Excel Word)
