  • Job Title: Substitute Teacher Coordinator
    Exemption Status/Test: Nonexempt
    Reports to: CampusPrincipal Landon Winton
    School: LubbockCooper High School

    Primary Purpose:

    Responsible for managing and scheduling substitute teachers ensuring classrooms are staffed during teacher absences. This role involves coordinating with teachers administrators and substitutes to maintain a smooth learning environment. Key responsibilities include managing substitute records and ensuring adequate coverage.

    Qualifications:

    Education/Certification:
    High school diploma or hold a General Educational Development (GED) certificate

    Special Knowledge/Skills:
    Strong organizational and communication skills
    Proficient keyboarding and file maintenance skills
    Flexibility and adaptability
    Good interpersonal skills
    Effective organizational communication and interpersonal skills

    Major Responsibilities and Duties:

    Scheduling and Communication
    1. Scheduling substitutes for teacher absences including both planned and lastminute absences.
    2. Communicating with teachers administrators and substitutes to ensure clear communication about absences and
      coverage needs.
    3. Onboarding and training substitute teachers ensuring they are familiar with school procedures and expectations.
    Record Management
    1. Maintaining a roster of substitute teachers tracking their availability and managing their records.
    2. Entering data into substitute systems generating reports on absences and substitute utilization and maintaining
      records.
    Other
    1. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.

    Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

    Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including computer and peripherals; standard library equipment including imaging equipment; standard instructional equipment
    Posture: Regular sitting standing kneeling squatting bending/stooping pushing/pulling and twisting
    Motion: Repetitive hand motions; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; regular overhead reaching; climbing ladders
    Lifting: Frequent light lifting and carrying (under 15 pounds); occasional moderate lifting and carrying 1544 pounds)
    Environment: Work inside; work alone; exposure to biological and chemical hazards such as mold and dust
    Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruption; maintain emotional control under stress
