Shining Stars Montessori Academy Public Charter School (SSMA) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Montessori Primary/Childrens House Instructional Coach (Grades PreK3K). Under the direction of the Principal this role will lead and support the implementation of the Montessori curriculum across the Primary and Elementary levels foster professional development for staff and ensure an equitable and culturally responsive environment for all students. This position combines instructional coaching leadership in communitybuilding and support for continuous growth and improvement in both curriculum and school culture. This individual is a member of the schools leadership team.
Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum Development and Instructional Leadership:
- Lead the implementation and evaluation of the Montessori curriculum in alignment with SSMAs mission and vision.
- Provide guidance and coaching to classroom teachers (Guides) and staff on Montessori pedagogy ensuring equity and access to highquality lessons materials and experiences for all students.
- Collaborate with the Principal and staff to develop and refine lesson plans instructional techniques and assessment methods to support student growth.
- Model and promote Montessori principles of grace courtesy and respect in all school interactions.
Staff Development and Coaching:
- Conduct regular classroom observations and offer feedback and coaching to educators to foster professional growth.
- Facilitate professional development workshops and individual coaching sessions focusing on Montessori philosophy instructional strategies and culturally responsive teaching.
- Oversee the performance assessments of classroom staff including Montessori Guides Assistants and Classroom Assistants.
- Assist in the recruitment and training of academic staff to ensure alignment with SSMAs values and mission.
Student Support and Achievement:
- Support the development and implementation of individual and group interventions to promote students academic and socialemotional growth.
- Use data (e.g. assessments observations and student work) to inform instructional practices and track progress toward schoolwide goals.
- Ensure that gradelevel benchmarks and Montessorialigned expectations are met for all students particularly those from traditionally underserved populations.
- Collaborate with the Principal on disproportionality studies and other efforts to ensure an inclusive and equitable learning environment.
Community Engagement and Family Relations:
- Lead initiatives to engage families and the community in understanding and supporting the Montessori philosophy.
- Coordinate and lead family education workshops community events and school celebrations.
- Communicate regularly with families about student progress school activities and important updates.
Operational and Administrative Support:
- Assist the Principal in coordinating the daily operations of the school including staffing scheduling and substitute coverage.
- Support the organization and implementation of standardized assessments and schoolwide data collection.
- Contribute to the development of schoolwide policies procedures and routines that support the Montessori approach.
Required Competencies and Qualifications:
- A strong commitment to Montessori philosophy and expanding access to Montessori education for all children.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and families.
- Experience providing instructional coaching professional development and feedback to educators.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to foster a positive school culture.
- Ability to analyze data to drive instruction and decisionmaking.
- Knowledge of and commitment to antibias antiracist pedagogy.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal and the ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders including students families and staff.
- Bilingualism is a plus.
Education and Experience:
- Montessori certification (Primary Grades PreK3K) required.
- Montessori Administrator Certification preferred but not required.
- A Masters degree in Education or a related field is preferred .
- Teaching licensure preferred
- At least five years of Montessori classroom experience and three to five years of experience in coaching administration or leadership.
- Experience working in diverse educational settings and a commitment to inclusive practices.
- Experience leading or supporting a bilingual or dualimmersion program is a plus.
