Job Description
This position is for the 2025-2026 school year.
NOTICE OF POSSIBLE WAIVER: To expedite the hiring for this position the hiring supervisor may apply for a waiver of the 15 day posting period to prevent disruption of necessary instructional or support services.
This position is for an instructional assistant in the preschool classroom.
Assist a certificated teacher in providing instruction to individual or small groups; monitor and report student progress.
This position is for6.5 hours per dayand 146 days per year
(122 student instructional days 4 paid holidays and and 20 extended days)
Contracted days will be adjusted depending upon start date.
(Considered full time with benefits - see below)
- Must have 48 semester hours an Associates Degree or have a high school diploma or equivalent and have passed the paraeducator exam and provide a copy to HR upon recommendation to hire.
New employees to the district may bring in up to 10 years of comparable full-time verified experience.(NOTE: It will be the responsibility of the applicant hired to submit the BCPS verification of experience form to their prior employer to complete and return to HR.)
