Elementary Teacher
Reports to: Principal
Length of Assignment: 10 months
Primary purpose:
To create a flexible elementary grade program and a class environment favorable to
learning and personal growth; to establish effective rapport with students; to motivate
students to develop skills attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation
for upper elementary grade education in accordance with each students ability; to
establish good relationships with parents and other staff members.

Duties of this job include but are not limited to:
Working Environment
The usual and customary methods of performing the jobs functions require the following physical demands: some lifting carrying pushing and/or pulling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Work in this classification is considered light physical work requiring the exertion of up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to move objects. Generally the job requires sitting walking and standing. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.
Certificates & Licenses Must have a Bachelors or foreign equivalent degree. Must have or be qualified to hold a NC teaching license in Elementary Education.
Continuing Education/TrainingMaintain Licensure & CEUs
Employment will require extensive background check.
