GTS (Global Transaction Services) provides transaction banking client experience and solution implementation for large corporate and institutional customers as well as manages the banks payment networks the regulatory and payments strategy agenda and the endtoend payments operations including clearing and settlements.

GTS is on a journey to deliver a digital banking platform for the future. Aimed at Westpacs institutional customer segment the Westpac One Core platform will provide digitisation of the working capital cycle and deliver a realtime corporate treasury through faster payments realtime liquidity optimisation cash flow forecasting and data monitoring. All through a seamless digital frontend customer experience.

How will I help

An exciting opportunity to join the Global Transaction Services (GTS) business line which is a critical pillar of Westpacs Institutional Bank. GTS provides transaction banking client experience and solution implementation for large corporate and institutional customers.

The Senior Business Analyst Payments is responsible for requirements gathering design and delivery of the Westpac One Core payments product backlog. The Senior Business Analyst will support product management to deliver features and capabilities across multiple domains and disciplines including Payments Data Channels and Servicing. They will participate in key Agile ceremonies and will own and deliver tasks and user stories within the Agile delivery framework.

An understanding of digital payments including real time payments low value ACH high value and/or international payments is required.

Reporting to the Director your key Accountabilities include:

  • Support the of the product backlog for Westpac One Core platform payments workstream
  • Gather and analyse requirements to support the solution design for delivering new payments capability for the platform including NPP BPAY RTGS and Swift international payments.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to cross functional teams to support the build and delivery of supporting capability that includes new digital channels customer servicing and payment operations.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to delivery and test teams to support the build implementation and testing of new payments features and capabilities.
  • Support the Agile ways of working by playing a proactive role within the team and wider program. This includes attending and participating within key ceremonies and events such as Big Room Planning retrospectives and daily standups.
  • Work with architects solution designers developers and thirdparty vendors throughout the platform development to deliver the prioritised backlog against a challenging release schedule.
  • Understand the impacts of changes to applicable legislation and regulatory frameworks and ensure the platform design meets the requirements of Compliance and Risk.
  • Rigorously identify and diligently manage risks incidents issues and controls.
  • Assess the operational requirements of the platform and work with Change Operations and Servicing to deliver business change.

What do I need

To be successful you will have the following:

  • Indepth knowledge of digital payments. This includes NPP BPAY RTGS and Swift international payments.
  • Experience in business analysis including requirements gathering business process mapping and data mapping.
  • Experience in digital payments transformation project delivery is desirable.
  • Proficiency in understanding and working with ISO 20022.
  • Demonstrated experience in Agile practices including user story definition and refinement.
  • Experience in endtoend technology delivery covering design build test and implementation.
