The opportunity
Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) is looking for an experienced higher education leader to lead Behavioral Intervention (BIT) and CARE Teams for both campusbased and online settings and collaborate in the development of SNHUs student support and wellbeing strategies. With a ability to design and implement scalable intervention models you will develop review and implement procedures for threat assessment and case management and lead the evolution of SNHUs established BIT/CARE team models to meet the needs of SNHUs physical campus students and the needs of over 200000 online students nationwide.
In this important role you will collaborate with important departments in a matrixed organizationincluding Student Affairs Student Experience Community Standards the Wellness Center Legal and Compliance and Title IXto develop and implement a datainformed and scalable approach that promotes a safe inclusive and supportive learning environment and provides risk mitigation to the University. You will bring BIT experience innovation and skills to foster a culture of wellbeing ensuring SNHU continues to set the standard for student support in higher education. You will report to the Vice President of Student Experience Support Services. This is a #LIHybrid role working on Campus.
Leadership & Strategy
- You will collaborate with university partners and lead us to define the mission scope membership and vision for a scalable BIT/CARE Team and threat assessment and behavioral intervention processes across campus and online platforms.
- You will develop document and lead longterm strategic plans to establish scalable institutionwide behavioral intervention standards that align with our policies and compliance standards.
- You will implement comprehensive risk assessment intervention and case management models ensuring ongoing quality improvement and reviews of policies and protocols.
- You will chair regular and emergency BIT/CARE Team meetings and advisory groups to foster collaboration ensure compliance provide mentoring and feedback and address complex cases.
- You will coordinate team training programs covering laws policies mental health cultural competency communication recordkeeping risk mitigation and intervention techniques.
- You will partner with Communications teams to create targeted marketing strategies that increase awareness of BIT/CARE Team services among our students and staff.
- You will prepare insight reports and recommendations to inform policy updates guide strategic decisions and enhance service delivery.
- You will build relationships with internal student support partners and external support organizations and community resources.
- You will collaborate with Student Affairs Student Experience teams and health promotion programs to identify trends and opportunities that support our goals for student and employee wellbeing.
Operations Process Management and Student Support
- You will assess and evolve behavioral intervention practices to create scalable institutionwide standards that address both campus and online needs.
- You will oversee risk rubric practices and behavioral intervention responses providing individualized support and intervention for highlevel cases.
- You will establish intervention plans while ensuring appropriate resource followup for our students and employees.
- You will improve confidential recordkeeping systems to monitor trends ensure compliance and identify opportunities for employee and student training and process enhancements.
- You will lead the development of proactive behavioral intervention response strategies for campus and online students based on datadriven insights and informed by national trends and best practices.
- You will maintain documentation and oversee followup procedures for all cases to support accountability and effectiveness.
- You will support the integration and optimization of the WellBeing Digital Tool to enhance student support services.
- You will collaborate with university departments leadership students parents and external community partners to provide comprehensive and seamless service delivery.
What were looking for:
- Masters degree in Higher Education or related field (counseling psychology social work)
- 7 years in higher education and 5 years progressive leadership experience
- Demonstrated experience managing university BIT/CARE teams and behavioral intervention for campus and online student populations in higher education.
- Familiarity with federal and state laws such as FERPA HIPAA Title IX ADA and Clery Act and institutional policies related to student conduct and safety.
- Experience implementing staffs use of mental health assessment tools and rubrics crisis intervention strategies and familiarity with national mental health resources and college student mental health trends.
- Experience with crisis management and behavioral intervention where complex mental health and wellbeing needs must be considered in establishing individual and community health and safety.
- Competence in using data to identify trends assess program effectiveness and make informed decisions.
- Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations including BIPOC and LGBTQIA students and individuals with different national origins and immigration histories.
- Experience leading diverse teams facilitating meetings and promoting collaboration among diverse partners.
- Develop longterm goals and implement scalable systems for campus and online student populations.
- Skill in developing training for staff faculty and team members on topics like threat assessment communication and mental health awareness.

Compensation
The annual pay range for this position is $100560.00 $160926.00. Actual offer will be based on skills qualifications experience and internal equity in addition to relevant business considerations. We expect this position to be hired in the following target hiring range $111119.00 $150338.00.
