In addition to taking outstanding care of our patients our Womens Health Nurse Practitioner:

  • Functioning under the provisions of their license and in collaboration with our physicians (where indicated) the nurse practitioner provides prenatal care to low risk patients routine GYN care and other services as required by the practice.
  • Obtains pertinent patient history and performs a physical exam (H&P) as indicated by the visit type.
  • Recognizes and addresses deviations from normal as required.
  • Performs orders and interprets both screening and diagnostic testing; addresses abnormal findings as needed within privileged scope of care.
  • Perform comprehensive family planning counseling cancer screening STI care and procedures.
  • Develops a thorough treatment plan which may include procedures medical or other referrals and/or prescribing of medications.
  • Provides patient instruction regarding plan of care preventive education and health promotion and maintenance.
  • Consults with other providers as necessary.
  • Obtains informed consent when indicated.
  • Collaborates with the health care team and other community agencies and resources as indicated.
  • Assesses interventions and/or referral progress as needed.
  • Documents accurately and clearly and updates electronic medical record (EMR).

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Reports to work regularly without undue tardiness or absences.
  • Maintains positive attitude and demonstrates the utmost in professionalism.
  • Dresses appropriately and professionally.
  • Completes work accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Excellent oral written and telephone communication skills along with tact diplomacy and strong customer service orientation.
  • Prioritizes work activities and receives and assumes multiple job duties.
  • Maintains effective working relationships with physicians administration staff members and hospital personnel.
Requirements
  • Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) in the state of Arizona.
  • A current unrestricted DEA license with prescribing authority.
  • Certification as a Womens Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) with womens health experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 23 years of clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner preferably in womens health or OBGYN and/or L&D RN experience.
  • Strong clinical skills including proficiency in conducting health assessments diagnosing and treating acute and chronic conditions and performing gynecological examinations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish rapport with patients families and multidisciplinary healthcare team members.
  • Commitment to providing patientcentered care promoting womens health and wellness and adhering to evidencebased practice guidelines.
