Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge Skills and/or Abilities Required)
Education of at least a high school diploma preferred. Must possess a basic knowledge of food preparation and food safety and sanitation. Must complete an approved food safety and sanitation course. Must possess the ability to perform basic cooking functions. Must possess the ability to operate a variety of food service equipment. Must be able to work quickly and efficiently. Must be able to read and write and understand and carry out oral and written directions. Must possess the ability to be a team player and work well with others. Must maintain a strong work attendance record. Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school nutrition staff other school staff parents and the community.

Must be able to withstand variable kitchen temperatures from extreme heat to extreme cold.
