Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented and driven Finance Manager to join my clients team. In this pivotal role you will take charge of managing the financial operations including regulatory reporting monthly management accounts budgeting forecasting and much more. If you are passionate about finance and have experience with IFRS 17 (PAA) this is the role for you!
Duties & Responsibilities
Monthly Management Accounts: Prepare and present monthly financial results to the Executive Head
Regulatory Reporting: Handle reports to the Prudential Authority and SARB
Payments & Analysis: Review daily payments and provide detailed analysis of supporting schedules
Team Leadership: Lead mentor and review the work of Junior Accountant staff
Budgeting & Forecasting: Collaborate with business units in preparing accurate budgets and forecasts
Balance Sheet & Reconciliations: Oversee the preparation of balance sheet and income statement reconciliations
Annual Financial Statements: Prepare and review annual financial statements including accounting policies and notes
Expense Reporting & Variance Analysis: Ensure accurate business unit expense reporting and critical variance analysis
Audit Assistance: Support the annual audit process
Skills & Experience:
Technical Skills: Deep understanding of IFRS 17 (especially PAA) IFRS VAT and Income Tax Act
Insurance Experience: Experience in the insurance industry is a major plus
Software Knowledge: Proficiency in Microsoft Suite experience with Pastel is advantageous
Soft Skills: Exceptional attention to detail critical thinking and the ability to work well under pressure
Leadership: Strong team management and communication skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
Qualification:
Qualified CA (SA)
