Job Description
Lewis Central Community School District is looking for parttime schoolyear and varied hour Nutrition Services Associates. Positions are available at all buildings and placement will be determined through interview with theNutrition ServicesDirector.
POSITION TITLE:Nutrition Services Associate
FLSA: PartTimeHourlyNonExempt
REPORTS TO:Nutrition Services Manager
Summary:
Maintains the Districts school facilities in such a state of operating excellence that they present no problems or interruptions to the educational program.
Basic Duties (not all inclusive):
Prepares foods and service areas under direction of themanager or cook
Provides service to students and staff during breakfast and lunch service
Use various pieces of kitchen equipment such as dish machines slicers choppers ovens and other cooking equipment
Cleans kitchen equipment kitchen area lunchroom and other work areas
Cross trains in all areas of the kitchen (cashier dishwasher prep cook etc.
- Other duties may be assigned
Qualifications:
Education: High School diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred but not required
Experience: Previous food service experience preferred but not required (additional pay given for verified relatable experience)
Hours/Schedule: Nutrition Services Associates are parttime employees and are scheduled between 36.5 hours per day. This position is expected to work all student days (approximately 177 days). Nutrition Services Associates may berequiredtoattend professional development sessions on nonstudent days as well.
Rate of pay:The current base rate fornutrition services associatesis $13.50 per hour. Depending on previous work experience or any relatable education or certifications you may hold this rate could increase by $1.00 to $2.00 more per hour. Final determination ofapplicants individual starting pay rate will be determined bythe Business Office/HR.
Benefits:As a parttime schoolyearemployeescheduled daily Monday through Fridaythis position iseligible for a $20000 life insurance policy at no cost and has the option to enroll in a few supplemental insurance programs (vision accident/critical illness). All staff are automatically enrolled from day one in the state sponsored retirement program IPERS. The District contributes 9.44 of your wages to this. IPERS requires that you contribute 6.29 of your wages.
Paid Leaves/Holidays:The District offers both paid sick leave and paid personal leavealong with 5paid holidays for parttime schoolyear employees; Labor Day Thanksgiving Day Christmas Day New Years Day and Memorial Day. Only parttime schoolyear custodians are eligible for paid leaves and holidays.
