The Oregon Liquor and Cannabis Commission (OLCC) oversees access to alcohol and cannabis products in Oregon through education regulation and distilled spirits distribution. Our aim is to protect public health and safety while supporting responsible businesses and providing funding for local and state agencies.
The agency is comprised of three major operational programs: the Distilled Spirits Program the Recreational Program and the Public Safety Program. All three programs are supported by the Administration Financial Services and Support Services divisions. Revenue generated from these programs helps support state and local government programs.

About this opportunity:
This position is based at our Milwaukie OR headquarters office. Please note that the headquarters for the agency will relocate from Milwaukie to Portland OR by approximately the end of 2026.
After an initial training period this position may be eligible for a flexible hybrid work schedule however weekly inoffice work will be required. This position is not eligible to be fully remote.
This position is represented by the American Federation of State County & Municipal Employees (AFSCME) union.
Heres what you will do:
This position acts as the backup and assistant to the agencys Network Administrators and acts as the secondary support resource for information technology data communication network installation of software and diagnosing and correcting technical problems. The position works with various stakeholders both within and outside the agency to solve complex problems and oversees and provides backup support to the IS Help Desk and other team members both on a scheduled and adhoc basis as necessary.

Heres what you need to qualify:
Minimum Qualifications:
Three 3 years of information systems experience as a computer help desk technician
OR
An associate degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field OR completion of a two 2 year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field AND one 1 year of information systems experience as a computer help desk technician
Preferred Skills:
Technical Troubleshooting: Ability to diagnose and resolve hardware software and network issues across various platforms (Windows MacOS etc)
Customer Service: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to assist users patiently and professionally often in highstress situations
Knowledge of Operating Systems and Applications: Familiarity with common OS environments and productivity software (Windows 10/11 Microsoft Office 365 browsers antivirus tools)
Remote support Tools: Experience using remote desktop tolls (e.g. ConnectWise Windows remote Assistant etc) to assist offsite users
Ticketing Systems: Proficiency in using IT service management tools (e.g. ServiceNow Jira etc) to track and support requests
Basic Networking Knowledge: Understanding of IP addressing DNS DHCP VPN and WiFi troubleshooting

Per the Pay Equity Law passed in 2017 a pay equity analysis will be conducted to determine what pay step the successful candidate will be offered. On average candidates new to state service will most likely be offered compensation in the lower to midlevel of the salary range.
Any offer of employment with OLCC is contingent on acceptable references and background check. This position requires a background and security check with fingerprinting to work in areas that handle confidential documents. An adverse background and failed security clearance will result in disqualification.
The person in this position may drive a State of Oregon vehicle. We require drivers to hold a current valid drivers license and maintain a good driving record in order to drive.
