Position Summary: The Director of Development oversees LCAs Annual Fund and all related components. Reporting to the Chief Advancement Officer this position oversees Annual Fund strategy and stewardship programs portfolio management systems and related database management functions. This position carries a portfolio of donors and serves as a prospect manager identifying leads and properly positioning donors. This position is crosscollaborative working across all divisions and programs to identify and assess needs prioritize funding opportunities and seek approval for funding and promotion. This position ensures all Annual Fund projects are properly funded and completed providing progress reports to donors as projects move forward. This position is responsible for all development and fundraising communications.

  • Strong fundraising background with experience managing donor portfolios and overseeing portfolio management program
  • Experience managing fundraising and donor programs
  • Extensive database management and data integration experience
  • Background in building and implementing engaging donor relations communications plans
  • Oversight over LCAs Planned Giving program donor leadership level program and affinity group engagement program ensuring specific constituencies are properly identified and communicated with.
  • Oversight of LCAs development office vendors and contracts maintaining vendor relationships and overseeing contract renewals
  • Event experience including budget management communications and stewardship fundamentals
  • Strong written and oral communication skills; experience managing fundraising communications
  • Strong initiative and customer service orientation
  • Ability to work collaboratively with donors volunteers and staff. Motivate and engage constituents to participate in annual fundraising.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of giving vehicles
  • Project management organizational and prioritizing skills; problem solving and organizational skills; attention to detail is imperative
  • Demonstrated high energy level and flexibility pleasant persona coupled with sound judgment; flexible discreet and able to maintain confidential information knowledge of correct protocol for specific situations
  • Works well independently and collaboratively under tight deadlines on several projects concurrently and possess excellent communication organizational and creative thinking skills
  • Availability and willingness to work occasional required evenings and weekends

Education/Experience:

Bachelors degree in Business related field preferred. Nonprofit experience of 57 years.

Language/Communication Ability:

Read and interpret documents such as safety rules handbooks and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence. Speak effectively before groups of students and staff. Communicate clearly in written and oral expression; ability to relate effectively with school personnel parents students and community groups and individuals.

Reasoning Ability:

Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral or diagram form. Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully an individual should demonstrate a reasonable level of computer literacy. Basic proficiency is needed in word processing emailing accessing the Internet school management software and basic office software.
