Milestones Day School is currently seeking a certified Special Education Teacher to teach English and Language Arts to middle school students (grades 68 to cover a parental leave from mid May 2025 mid November is a private day school dedicated to helping students discover their strengths and increase their selfconfidence. We offer a therapeutic academic program that incorporates both academic and social/emotional skill instruction in a state of the art building. Teachers have the opportunity to collaborate with a variety of multidisciplinary therapists and specialists. We have a low student to staff ratio and our population consists primarily of students with diagnoses on the Autism Spectrum Learning Disabilities Attention Deficit Disorder and Anxiety RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Create and deliver an enriching ELA curriculum for students in grades 68 that aligns with the MA Common Core Curriculum. Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong methodology for differentiating curriculum to the meet the needs of our diverse group of learners. Knowledge of best practices for incorporating MCAS preparation supporting IEP accommodations and writing IEP goals benchmarks and progress notes is also expected. Support students with nonacademic activities that focus on social skill development executive functioning coaching sensory regulation and foster independence. All students and staff have a designated computer device and teachers are provided with a variety of assistive technology resources to help supplement learning including Smartboards in each classroom. Classroom teachers are expected to use Google Classroom daily and support digital literacy. QUALIFICATIONS: PREFERRED: Massachusetts Teachers license in Moderate Disabilities PreK8 Moderate Disabilities 512 or English 512. Masters Degree in Education Special Education English or content discipline preferred; Bachelors degree required. Experience teaching in a school setting.
