Peer Support Specialist
The Peer Support Specialist at the Oasis Center is a clinic focused position supporting patients experiencing substance use disorders who have young children. This position will promote recovery and family stabilization by supporting patients and connecting with community resources. This position is an essential part of the team.
The Peer Support Specialist at the Oasis Center is a clinic focused position supporting patients experiencing substance use disorders who have young children. This position will promote recovery and family stabilization by supporting patients and connecting with community resources. This position is an essential part of the team.
Job Responsibilities:
- Work in collaboration with the Oasis Care Team and Medical providers to support patients experiencing substance use disorders to engage in care treatment and to navigate resources
- Manage a caseload of patients
- Document in electronic health record
- Role model recovery parenthood and selfefficacy
- Provide patient transportation within community to support health and recovery goals
- Maintains a high level of confidentiality
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in peer support preferred
- Current and valid Oregon Drivers License and able to be insured
- Active in recovery from substance use
- Peer Support Certification able to obtain after hire
- Community Health Worker certification preferred
Compensation: $19.00 $23.00 per hour
The Oasis Center of the Rogue Valley was founded in 2019 by physician Kerri Hecox MD and child advocate MaryCurtis Gramley in response to a community need to support parents with substance use disorders and their young children. Since opening we have served hundreds of families in our community providing services that support healthy child development strong families and supportive social networks.
