Job Title: Bookkeeper II
Position Reports To: Director of Administration
FLSA Status: NonExempt S6
Responsible for maintaining records for payroll accounts receivable accounts payable other accounts and current financial information on all funds. Receives little direct supervision and only general oversight from the Director of Administration.
Job Responsibilities
- Provides bookkeeping and payroll services for the parish and elementary school (if applicable).
- Prepares payroll.
- Maintains all parish accounting records on current Archdiocesan recommended software.
- Supports tuition coordinator tuition collection and related fees. Makes notifications of chargebacks. Generates school reports as needed.
- Prepares and submits invoices with appropriate accounting codes to Shared Accounting.
- Initiates all bank transfers and related activities including SLAF accounts in coordination with Shared Accounting. Reconciles the Stipend account.
- Review monthly statements for capital campaigns and prepares related status reports. Manages cash flow of capital campaign loan with the Archdiocese Finance Department.
- Maintains all parish and school personnel files. Facilitates faculty contracts with the electronic HR system. Maintains all benefits information and processes all benefit change requests. Maintains overall management of the new electronic HR system for the parish and school.
- Prepares reports as needed for monthly Finance Council meetings. Attends meetings.
- Supports development of the parish and school budgets.
- Liaison for parish organization financial activities.
- Liaison with Archdiocesan Finance Office Risk Management Office Building and Real Estate Office Office of Human Resources and Shared Accounting Office.
Job Requirements
Knowledge & Experience Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Accounting preferred
- Three to five years experience and in bookkeeping
- Previous experience in Quickbooks Microsoft Word and Excel software
- Previous training or applicable experience
- Previous experience in Servant Keeper and Parish Helper desirable
- Skilled in using personal computers including email and internet
