Job Description

*** PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS AN ONSITE / CONTRACT POSITION BASED OUT OF OUR FREMONT CA LOCATION SO ONLY LOCAL CA CANDIDATES WILL BE CONSIDERED ***


Responsible for design/development modification and evaluation of primarily electronic parts components or controls/integrated circuitry for hardware and/or other systems. May contribute to total system engineering including other engineering disciplines. May be involved in all phases of design and development from initial concept to manufacturing. Conducts experimental tests on equipment and evaluates results. Develops specifications for selecting components and equipment to use. May also review vendors abilities to support development. Depending on level may function as a project engineer/leader with the resident responsibilities of proposals/project plan schedules work assignments prime contact technical presentations cross functional issue resolution etc. Is expected to keep up to date on technical advances in the discipline and related fields.

Our Opportunity: We are looking for an enthusiastic Electrical Engineer eager to integrate into our culture and be a key team contributor. This engineer will work with a team in the development of new generation controls solutions and engage in analyses of complex field and manufacturing challenges. Key responsibilities will include working with a team to develop new PCBs for system and robot controllers and developing Engineering Design Specifications. Work will include technical presentations and crossfunctional issue resolution. Responsible for ensuring proper documentation consistent use of processes and systems and engineering design standards are followed. Must be capable of working collaboratively with mechanical and software engineers on complete product solutions.

In a typical week the priorities for the individual and the team are defined in our online project system. Longterm development projects will progress a question or issue may arise from a customer or from our operations team requiring a quick investigation and response input at multiple design reviews may be given and hands on prototyping or testing may be done in our labs.

Value to bring to the team:

  • Ability to learn complex systems quickly and work independently

  • Spice modeling and analysis or equivalent

  • Digital circuit design with Microcontrollers and communication protocols (SPI/I2C/Serial)

  • DCDC power supply circuits

  • Component selection and data sheet interpretation

  • Cable design

  • Good troubleshooting and problemsolving skills

  • Competency in Altium preferred

  • Strong technical communication and presentation skills

  • Handy in the use of standard lab equipment and tools

  • Prototyping and debugging circuits in a lab

  • Standard Windows applications (Excel word power point outlook)

  • BSEE with 5 years of experience or MSEE with 3 years of experience

  • Occasional travel <5.

Bonus:

  • Experience in Control theory and PID feedback control tuning

  • Experience with Verilog and FPGAs
