Essential Functions
- Demonstrate relentless commitment to academic achievement of all students.
- Coordinate the development implementation and revision of the curriculum for ALE.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations regarding alternative learning environments.
- Assist buildingadministrators and teachers with understanding alternative learning environments and making appropriate referrals for student placement.
- Meet with parents/guardians and students to resolve concerns and determine appropriate educational placements.
- Evaluate the ALE program to ensure that program objectives for student achievement are met.
- Assess and identify program needs and provide recommendations regarding future equipment site program and personnel requirements.
- Assist with transitioning students who have attended the ALE program back to the comprehensive school setting if it is a part of their student learning plan.
- Communicate with the transportation department to arrange transportation as needed for ALE students.
- Facilitate interagency planning between the school and external service providers such as schoolbased mental health services.
- Work collaboratively with the special education department to coordinate services to special needs students served in the ALE.
- Ensure accurate record keeping of students receiving instructional services in the ALE.
- Teach approved district curriculum
- Advises parents and/or legal guardians of student progress for the purpose of supporting teachers expectations developing methods for improvement and/or reinforcing classroom goals in the home environment.
- Assesses student progress expectations goals etc. for the purpose of providing feedback to students parents and administration.
- Assists other teachers for the purpose of implementing curriculum.
- Collaborates with school personnel parents and various community agencies for the purpose of improving the quality of student outcomes developing solutions and planning curriculum.
- Demonstrates methods required to perform assignments for the purpose of providing an effective school program and addressing the needs of individual students.
- Develops teaching programs (e.g. math physical education art social studies science reading etc. for the purpose of providing basic subject matter specified by state law and district requirements.
- Facilitates student learning for the purpose of achieving success in academic interpersonal and daily living skills through a defined course of study specified by state law and administrative regulations of the district.
- Monitors student activities (e.g. classroom lunch grounds etc. for the purpose of providing for the safety and welfare of students.
- Participates in a variety of meetings for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions.
- Prepares teaching materials and related reports (e.g. grades attendance anecdotal records etc. for the purpose of implementing lesson plans and documenting student progress.
- Reports incident (e.g. fights suspected child abuse suspected substance abuse etc. for the purpose of maintaining personal safety of students providing a positive learning environment and adhering to Education Code administrative and/or school policies.
Other Functions
- Assists other personnel for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment.
- Manage credit recovery system
- Teach classes that WA St. teaching certification allows
- Prepare required ALE compliance documentation
- Support InPerson ALE and Ontrack students throughout the school day
- Support Online ALE students
Experience: Job related experience is desired.
Education: Bachelors degree in job related area
Certificated & Licenses
WA State Teaching Certificate with appropriate subject area endorsement(s)
Valid First Aid Certificate

WA State Sexual Misconduct Inquiry
