Job Description
Position Title: Operations Specialist
Department: Transportation Department

SUMMARY: An Operations Specialist is a vital member of the Transportation Departments daytoday operations. The Operations Specialist under the direction of the Director of Transportation assists in the coordination of routing scheduling and other daily operations of the Transportation Department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalency is preferred. Must possess and maintain a minimum class B CDL a school bus endorsement air brake endorsement and passenger endorsement. Applicants must pass a physical preemployment drug screen and background check before being eligible for employment.
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS: The ability to use transportation specific software programs. The ability to communicate clearly and effectively. The ability to interact with members of the public in a courteous and professional manner to include complaints about scheduling and levels and quality of service; the ability to manage students; and capable of responding calmly in emergency situations.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Successful completion of preemployment background checks. Appropriate personal and professional conduct at all times around students other staff members and the general public.
