Description

Job Summary
To manage and supervise the Dallas campus in all custodial operations by providing a safe clean and attractive campus for all who are called to serve train and lead at DTS.
Duties/Responsibilities
  • Daily ensure that campus facilities grounds and housing environments are cleaned and ready for all live attend and work. Verifying that all scheduled areas are addressed and ready for the next class and event.
  • Manages the daytoday operations of DTS Custodial Operations for all campus grounds housing and buildings
  • Manage the payroll for all Custodial employees
  • Manage the supplies and certification of all AEDs and First Aid cabinets on campus
  • Manage the contracted vendors utilized for the seminary housing buildings cleaning
  • Manage emergency custodial services contacts for disaster relief
  • Manage the custodial supply inventory
  • Manage the routine maintenance schedule of all custodial equipment while recommending new equipment purchases to Executive Director of Facilities Operations & Construction Management (Exec. Dir. of FO&CM)
  • Manage and supervise the training and health standard requirements of custodial staff
  • Manage the quality checks of buildings to ensure that they meet the standards set by the DTS Custodial Operations Mission
  • Work with the DTS Safety Committee and oversee all administrative and safety issues which impact the Custodial Operations Department
  • Manage and build relationships with vendors to ensure great working relationships to accomplish the DTS Mission
  • Manage communication clearly and promptly about any concerns regarding matters of preparation of facilities to the Exec. Dir. of FO&CM
  • Manage and be prepared to respond to all campus and housing emergencies 24/7
  • Manage the removal of all recycled and bulk trash pickup
  • Manage all Employee Success requirements needed to maintain a healthy productive custodial staff hiring with the assistance of the Exec. Dir. of FO&CM
  • Manage the review and distribution of work orders to staff ensure that work orders are completed returned to the Custodian IV for input into proper records and then turned into FPO administrative assistant
  • Manage that custodial staff are up to date with safety training requirements
  • Manage current trends and standards associated with custodial operations

Qualifications

  • An ability to manage the custodial personnel and all paperwork associated with Custodial Operations in a timely manner.
  • An ability to work independently and as part of a team to accomplish tasks.
  • An ability to understand and follow detailed oral and written instructions regarding safety administrative and cleaning matters.
  • An ability to take appropriate action with concerns raised by custodial staff regarding safety administrative and cleaning matters.
  • An ability to give clear oral and written instructions to staff regarding safety administrative and cleaning matters.
  • An ability to approach and work with customers in regard to all custodial issues.
  • An ability to flex work schedule as necessary to respond to situations after normal business hours.
  • An ability to assess developing or current problems determine the best course of action and carry out course of action.
  • Consistent Punctuality and Attendance.
  • A valid Texas Drivers license with a good driving record required.
  • Computer skills (email word processor spreadsheet power point and publisher) necessary to perform job functions listed above.

  • The Physical Activity of this Position
  • Climbing: Ascending or descending ladders stairs scaffolding ramps poles and the like using feet and legs and /or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized. This factor is important if the amount and kind of climbing required exceeds that required for ordinary locomotion.

  • Repetitive Motions: Substantial movement (motions) of the wrists hands and/or fingers.
  • The Physical Requirements of the Positions

  • Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift carry push pull or otherwise move objects including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

  • Machine Operators (including inspection) inspection close assembly clerical administrative: This is a minimum standard for use with those whose work deals largely with preparing and analyzing data and figures accounting transcription computer terminal extensive reading visual inspection involving small defects small parts operation of machines (including inspection) using measurement devices assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
  • Machine Operators (without inspection) mechanics skilled trades people: This is a minimum standard for use with those whose work deals with machines such as lathes drill presses. Power saws and mills where the seeing job is at or within arms reach. (If the machine operator also inspects use the above standard that requires more acuity. Also mechanics and skilled trades people and those who do work of a nonrepetitive nature such as carpenter technicians service people plumbers painter mechanics etc.
  • Mobile Equipment Operators: This is a minimum standard for use with those who operate cars; trucks forklifts cranes and high lift equipment.
  • Other: This is a minimum standard based on the criteria of accuracy and neatness of work for janitors sweepers etc.

  • The worker is subject to inside environmental conditions: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
