Job Description

The Whittan Group is the largest manufacturer of steel storage products in the United Kingdom. Operating through a number of market leading brands; we design manufacture and install storage solutions for commercial and industrial environments in the UK and Europe.

Polypal UK who are one of our trusted brands are looking for a dedicated and experienced Head of Repair and Maintenance to join their busy and successful team to oversee all aspects of the repair and maintenance operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the repair & maintenance team
  • Ensure efficient and effective service delivery across all facilities and assets.
  • Develop and implement maintenance strategies
  • Enhance the reliability and performance of equipment machinery and buildings.
  • Coordinate and oversee preventative and corrective maintenance programs
  • Ensuring compliance with safety standards and industry regulations.
  • Monitor and manage maintenance budgets
  • Ensuring costeffective solutions while maintaining highquality standards.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and contractors.
  • Track and report on performance metrics related to repair and maintenance activities to senior management.
  • Identify areas for improvement and recommend innovative solutions to optimise operations.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations by conducting regular inspections and audits.

Essential skills/qualifications/experience:

  • Significant experience in managing FM or R&M teams is essential with ideally at least 5 years experience at this level of seniority.
  • With longevity demonstrated through previous employment the ideal candidate will have experience leading and aligning a team and have excellent communication/customer service skills.
  • Must be a good team player and an effective communicator and have an ability to address customer needs effectively and build customer relationships.
  • Excellent organisational planning and time management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail aligned with a proven understanding of budget control.
