Job Description
Job Title: SCE Academic Tutor
Reports to: CampusPrincipal
Pay Grade: Temporary
Dept./Campus: Assigned Campus
Wage Status: Per Hour
Days: TBD
Primary Purpose:
Conduct instructional exercises assigned by the teacher work with individual students or small groups. Work under supervision of certified teacher or administrator. This position is paid for through State Compensatory Education (SCE) funds.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- High school diploma or GED (required)
- Completed at least two years of study at an institution of higher education (defined as completion of 48 semester hours or equivalent trimester hours) of college coursework (preferred)
- Valid Texas teaching certificate (preferred)
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Ability to work well with students
- Ability to communicate effectively
Experience:
Some experience working with students
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Conduct instructional exercises assigned by the teacher work with individual students or small groups.
- Collect and maintain data regarding student work and progress
- Perform other related duites as assigned within the approrpriate skill and experience capabiltities expected for this position.

Personal or laptop computer printer copier fax machine calculator telephone electronic mobile devices and other instructional technology
Working Conditions:
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Maintain emotional control under stress. Moderate standing stooping bending and lifting.

I understand that this position is funded by State Compensatory Education (SCE) funds and it requires my cooperation in maintaining the following documentation: SCE Tutoring Attendance Forms and SCE Academic Tutoring Activities Log.
