The Boeing CompanyThe Boeing Global Services (BGS) is seeking an ExperiencedLevel Product Review Engineer (Liaison Engineering) to support the Aerospace Operations team at the Charleston Air Force Base SC. This position is located at Joint Base Charleston SC.
The selected candidate will provide onsite Field Engineering and Technical Support to the United States Air Force at Charleston Air Force Base SC as an integral part of a multidiscipline team in conjunction with the C17 Globemaster III Sustainment Partnership (GSP) contract.
The candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting and providing dispositions for the modification and repair of nonconforming situations. The team is responsible for working with both internal Boeing teams suppliers and customers all over the world.
Position Responsibilities:
- Assess and resolve product/process issues through the product lifecycle.
- Apply engineering principles and experience to research technical operational and quality issues that cannot be resolved by the customer.
- Develop and document interim and permanent engineering dispositions to ensure aircraft airworthiness and overall USAF C17 OSS&E.
- Use innovative approaches and unique applications to solve complex nonconforming conditions.
- Identify documents analyze reported problems and communicate deviations that could impact design intent and safety; recommend and manage resolutions.
- Provide design phase subject matter expertise by supporting Integrated Product Teams (IPT) and participating in design reviews.
- Participate in onsite disabled aircraft repair/recovery teams safety or accident investigation boards and aircraft maintenance recovery teams.
- Design interim and permanent aircraft structural repairs and conduct static strength analysis.
- Develop customer correspondence for continued safe operation and maintenance of equipment.
- Develop and implement technical training curriculum for internal and external customers.
- Develop and implement product/process improvements.
- Ability to work unsupervised for extended periods of time in a wide variety of cultural/economic environments.
- May be asked to support additional military related programs.
This position is expected to be 100 onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at Joint Base Charleston SC.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology) chemistry physics mathematics data science or computer science.
- 3 years experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
- 3 years experience aerospace manufacturing operations and/or manufacturing support.
- Material Review Board Certification experience or similar Liaison Engineering experience.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Excellent crossfunctional leadership collaborative problem solving building lasting relationships & proficiency in written and verbal communication.
- Modification Engineering experience.
- Relevant technological knowledge.
- Excellent problemsolving skills.
- Ability to lead others work independently and in a team environment.
