Were looking for someone who is passionate about indie games to enhance our connection with our players. If youre a content creation powerhouse who lives and breathes the latest indie gamming trends and can communicate our message in fun impactful ways we want to hear from you!
As aContent Marketing Specialist you will be the driving force behind all things content marketing creating meaningful engaging and relevant content that resonates with our audience. Youll be responsible for owning the social media calendar creating a diverse range of content including blogs images and videos that are engaging as and capture the spirit of our games. Your work will include everything from gameplay captures to creative longform videos all while working in close collaboration with other teams to bring our marketing vision to life for our players.
Responsibilities
Content Creation & Strategy
- Develop content that engages entertains and resonates with each games target audience in the most relevant way.
- Be a meme connoisseur drive engagement and social conversation while ensuring that our content feels authentic and fun.
- Own thesocial media calendar planning and executing content that drives engagement and keeps our community buzzing.
- Manage the creation of ongoinglongerform video content includingdev diariesstudio deep divesgameplay walkthroughs andhighlight reels.
Video & Content Editing
- Comfortable working withvideo editing software taking raw footage and turning it into polished engaging content.
- Leadgame capture sessionsforscreenshotsandvideosthat showcase our gameplay in an appealing and easytounderstand way.
- Help create compellingtextbased contentlikeVelan blog postsemail newslettersSteam community updates andstore page copy.
- All this work should be done in collaboration with the game director and members of the development team.
Creative Marketing Support
- Collaborate with the marketing team to bringnew creative ideasand strategies that go above and beyond existing gotomarket plans.
- Provideevent supportfor bothonlineandinperson events including setup timeline management and working with partners to ensure the events success.
Technical Skills & Collaboration
- Bring atechsavvyapproach to content creation with an eye for highquality visually compelling gameplay captures.
- Writeonbrand copyfor various marketing channels while keeping the tone consistent and engaging across all content types.
Requirements
- Demonstrated capability of fostering and building vibrant social communities on platforms popular among gamers (TikTok X YouTube etc..
- Proven experiencein content marketing or similar role ideally within the indie gaming industry.
- ProficiencyinPhotoshop Canvaand other design tools with a strong Graphic Design background and experience in typography color theory and layout.
- Familiarity editing videos and using editing software (e.g. Premiere Pro After Effects etc.
- Strongcopywriting skillswith the ability to adapt tone and style based on the platform and target audience.
- Ability tocapture engaging gameplay footageand create content that is both informative and entertaining.
- Familiarity with creatinglongform video content including editing storytelling and adding value to the community through insightful and entertaining formats.
- A passion forgaming with a strong understanding of what makes content shareable and engaging to the gaming community.

Velan Studios is made up of a team of remote hybrid and onsite employees with hybrid and onsite team members operating from our Troy NY office.
The salary for this position is typically within the range specified below* per year. Please note that the actual base pay may vary based on factors such as your qualifications skills experience and other relevant considerations. In addition to your salary our comprehensive compensation package includes various perks such as potential annual bonuses (though they are not guaranteed) health dental vision life and disability insurance a retirement savings plan paid holidays and flexible timeoff benefits.
*salary range: $65k $90k annually
