We are looking for a social worker to join our OUTSTANDING team
We work with children who have been exploited or who are at risk of being exploited. Our work is not time limited you will get an opportunity to be creative with the children in finding ways of engaging them and helping them understand that they have been exploited.
The role of a social worker in the Child Exploitation team is to build a strong working relationship with children who have been or are at risk of being exploited. We are colocated with Leicestershire Police Child Exploitation teams and Missing Persons team so we are able to provide a joint up approach to the children we are trying to protect. We also work closely with Leicester City and Rutland Childrens services and Health colleagues. On some cases you will work directly with the police to create safety around children. We are in the process of developing the pathway for Harm Outside the Home Conferences aligning ourselves with Durham University acknowledging the child protection risks to children who are at high risk of exploitation and working with their parents as partners.
You will at times work alongside your colleagues in other Leicestershire Childrens Social Care teams being part of the team around a child and at other times where child exploitation is the sole reason for Childrens Services to be involved the case will be held solely within our team.
In Leicestershire we pride ourselves on relationshipbased practice and striving for excellence we are proud of our team and how they strive to ensure that children are safe and where possible the persons of concern are arrested and prosecuted for their actions.
If you are passionate about positive outcomes for children and feel you can give care and commitment to our children then this is the role for you.
